All riders must have show attire (helmet, hunt coat, ratcatcher, breeches or jodhpurs, and boots for hunter and equitation classes* and helmet, collared shirt, breeches or jodhpurs, and boots for jumper classes), except in the Lead Line, Warm-up classes, USHJA Walk/Trot divisions, Shortest Stirrup, and Trotting Pole Hunter divisions. *Riders wearing jodhpurs should also wear garters, and riders in equitation classes should also have gloves and a belt, but will be allowed to compete without them.
Special Equitation Classes
EQUITATION CLASSIC FINALS WARM-UP CLASS ENTRY FEE: $10 Open to any horse or rider. A rider does not need to be qualified for the Equitation Classic Finals in order to participate in this warm-up class. Additional rounds of the same rider will not be judged. The course will be an equitation course at the same height, in the same ring, over the same jumps, incorporating similar turns and elements as the finals, but is not the exact same as the actual course for the finals. No test or flat phase will be included. Fence height will vary and riders may do their warm-up at a different height than their actual finals course, if they choose. This class is not recognized by MIHJA. CLASS 900 EQUITATION CLASSIC FINALS WARM-UP
HUNTERMARK EQUITATION CLASSIC FINALS CLASS ENTRY FEE: FREE Riders who have placed in at least one equitation over fences class at Huntermark during the current show season qualify for this class. Riders will be scored on their flat and jumping performance, turnout of horse rider, and tack, and their answers to three horse-related questions. The flat phase will be done without stirrups. Jumping Phase = 30%, Flat Phase = 30% (20 point penalty if stirrups are used), Turnout Phase = 25%, and Question Phase = 15%. Fence height in the jumping phase will vary based on the highest the rider has shown in equitation over fences classes at a Huntermark show this year. Riders whose highest equitation class was held in Ring 1 will do their jumping phase in Ring 1. Riders whose highest equitation class was held in Ring 2 will do their jumping phase in Ring 2. No martingales in flat phase. Unlike most Medal classes, riders MAY use different horses on the flat and over fences, and horses may be ridden by more than one rider. Special Hunter Classes
HANDY HUNTER CLASS ENTRY FEE: $10 Open to any exhibitor on any horse or pony. This class will be open all day and can be done at any height the exhibitor chooses. The course must have at least two changes of direction as well as three of the following: hand gallop a jump, bending line, rollback turn, fence at the end of the ring or open a gate while mounted, trot over one obstacle, or lead over one obstacle. The course may include one combination. Judges must place emphasis on promptness and tight turns with precedence being given in that order. CLASS 224 HANDY HUNTER OVER FENCES
TROTTING POLE HUNTER CLASSIC CLASS ENTRY FEE: $12 Open to any horse or rider that has not shown over fences higher than 2'. Show attire not required. Cantering will be penalized. Two rounds judged using open numerical scoring. The first round of the Classic will be your choice of Trotting Pole Horse or Rider Hunter, USHJA Hunter, or Shortest Stirrup Hunter Over Poles (class #144, #150, #137 or #141). The second round not to exceed 12 poles. Ribbons 1-8. PRIZE MONEY as follows: 1st - $15, 2nd - $12, 3rd - $10, 4th - $5, 5th - $2, 6 - $1, 7 - R, 8 - R. CLASS 225 $45 TROTTING POLE HUNTER CLASSIC
MIHJA HUNTER CLASSIC CLASS ENTRY FEE: $15 Open to any exhibitor on any horse or pony. Two rounds judged using open numerical scoring. The first round will be the same as Sundays round for any hunter division which is open to any rider in Ring 1 or Ring 2. The second round not to exceed 12 jumps. Fence height depends on the division in which the Classic is included. Ribbons 1-8. PRIZE MONEY as follows: 1st - $25, 2nd - $20, 3rd - $15, 4th - $10, 5th - $5, 6 - $5, 7 - R, 8 - R Exhibitors who use the Warm-Up as the first round of the Classic are eligible for a ribbon, but the horse must have been ridden in at least two classes of the hunter division it is chosen to be ridden in conjunction with, in order to be eligible for prize money.
