2016 D Series
(TENTATIVE)

June

August

Sept

October

The D Series is a schooling show circuit based in the Des Moines area.  They are not recognized by the USEF and classes are around $12.  Show clothes and braiding are a good idea, but not required. Trotting to change leads (simple changes) are allowed without penalty on Saturday.  Classes range from Trotting Poles to 2'9" or so in the hunters and also a few low jumper classes.  You must attend 2 shows in order for your points to count towards the D Series awards banquet.

  Potluck for Winter Series

We have decided to go with a potluck breakfast and lunch rather than a concession stand for the winter series.  It works out really well when everyone helps out.  Everyone gets hungry when they spend a long day at the barn, but sometimes very few people contribute to the cause.  If everyone would bring a dish to share there would be plenty of food for all, and it should be cheaper for everyone than buying food at the concession stand or having to go to a restaurant.  We would like to see this system pay off for everybody, so please contribute and help make this a great success!

                          OLD NEWS

Savannah Chapman went to
IHJA"A" Circuit Medal Finals!

Savannah Chapman qualified for the 2009 IHJA "A" Medal Finals showing her pony, Chasing Rainbows, at Ledges last winter.  She won a gold (automatically qualifying her) in the Children's Mini Medal Finals, but she also qualified for the Pony Medal Finals.  Riders may only compete in one Final and Savannah chose the more difficult Children's Mini Medal Finals. When she went to the Finals in September it was with the brave and trustworthy Rock Solid.  They were a relatively new match but pulled it off like a couple of old pros.  Savannah had a pretty round and had a good score over a difficult course.  Congratulations, Savannah!

    High Point Equitation Rider Announced
The winner of the 2009 Stephanie VanDeWoestyne Memorial High Point Equitation award is Summer Lawrence riding Rock Solid, for the second year in a row!  This award is earned by the rider with the most points in equitation classes in all the summer shows held by Huntermark combined.  This includes the MIHJA recognized and USEF recognized shows.  Summer's name will be engraved on the traveling trophy on display in the Club Room.

Customer Appreciation Day Find Huntermark on facebook!
This summer Huntermark Farm will hold its first annual customer appreciation day.  Activities will include: a delicious meal, a bonfire marshmallow roast, having your ride videotaped, edited, and posted on YouTube with links from our site.  Pictures captured from the video will also be posted on our web site.  There will be drawings with great prizes and some funny prizes.  Since this is the first year, we are especially open to suggestions for more fun that can be had at the barn!

Huntermark has joined the 21st century and created a Facebook page!   It's a public profile so search it out the next time you're on.  If you add Huntermark Farm as a friend you'll get updates from a status change before horse shows and whenever new results are posted after the show.  Huntermark Farm is also part of several groups including MIHJA - Midstate Illinois Hunter Jumper Association and there's even a group called Huntermark Farm Barn Groupies!  If you don't have a Facebook page yet, you might want to go to www.facebook.com and give it a try and join in the fun.

Shows at Huntermark are now recognized by
the American Paint Horse Association
Thanks to Darla Bridges getting it put together, all of the shows held at Huntermark in 2010 will be recognized by the American Paint Horse Association (APHA) as a Paint Alternative Competition or PAC.  For more information, see this page of the APHA web site.  The horse must be registered with the APHA in order for the credits to count.  The owner is responsible for filling out their own paperwork and bringing it to the show secretary to sign.  At that time they must also present the horse's APHA registration papers.

             DON'T FORGET
   Pictures, Pictures
I am always looking for new pictures of students and/or horses in and around the barn.  They don't have to be show pictures and they don't have to be jumping or showing.  I am particularly looking for pictures of school horses of the past, pictures from awards banquets and Equitation Classic Finals that have pictures missing (see: www.HuntermarkFarm.com/results.htm ), students that aren't pictured on the Our Students page (see: www.HuntermarkFarm.com/meet_the_students.htm ),
and Halloween classes that have pictures missing (see: www.HuntermarkFarm.com/Halloween.htm ) but I would love to see whatever you've got.  When you send lots of pictures, please use this e-mail: HuntermarkFarm@hotmail.com
